Signature on a Georgia writ, 1783 March.

In a printed document completed by hand, W. Houston orders the defendant to appear in court in the case of the Patton Administrators vs Matthew Roche. The verso contains a sworn statement that Roche was served with the writ. The verso also contains a confession of judgment signed by Houston. George Walton signed the writ as Chief Justice of the Superior Court.
